Clara Barros has worked on human rights and gender equality for over 11 years and for over 20 years in development projects. She has a record of accomplishment coordinating and implementing UN Women’s programme in Cape Verde, and providing technical assistance to UN agencies (UNFPA, UNDP, UNIDO, OHCHR), development agencies (MCC, LuxDev, ACDI-VOCA, WB, AfDB) and governmental and civil society stakeholders in Cape Verde.
Her main areas of expertise include economic empowerment of women, gender statistics, gender responsive budgeting and planning, and gender-based violence. She is proficient in gender analysis, gender audits, developing strategies and tools for gender mainstreaming in programs and projects, strategic planning, monitoring of human rights and gender equality national and international commitments.
Clara has a University Diploma and post-graduation in Psychology & has completed additional trainings, e.g. in “Human Rights Based Approach to planning”, “Training of trainer on gender equality”, “Facilitator of gender audits” and “Gender responsive budgeting and planning”.
