Jaime Severino has worked in the conservation and sustainable use of natural resources for more than 12 years, both at a local, national and international level, mainly in the design, implementation and evaluation of public policy instruments.
Jaime has mainly focused on the sustainable management of forests and biodiversity, both from the public sector and as a private consultant. He has extensive international experience in the formulation and implementation of national and subnational strategies to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD+). This includes projects with different entities such as FCPF, GEF, UNDP, UN-Environment, WB, among others. He also has experience in the design of public policy instruments linked to climate change at local and subnational levels.
Jaime is an Environmental Engineer from the Western Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESO) and has a master in Environmental Management and Policy from Yale University. He also carried out several project management studies.
