
Javier Jiménez Pérez

Javier Jiménez has more than 30 years of professional experience in international cooperation projects, with responsibilities in field project management (AECID, EU, UNDP), leadership of multidisciplinary technical teams and sector coordination for Latin America from central offices (AECID). He has worked in the design, planning and management of global programs and strategies for sustainable development. He is a specialist in prevention and resolution of socio-environmental conflicts. He has worked as a coordinator in various projects in which a specialized mediation, negotiation and facilitation action has been required in the formation of new social consensus in scenarios of high political and social risk (hydroelectric dams, large infrastructures, etc.).
He has also worked on the resolution of conflicts related to the defense and recognition of the rights of ancestral people, and as a mediator in the resolution of land conflicts. He is an expert in defense and rights recognition programs and a specialist for the involvement of indigenous people as essential actors for sustainable development. He is an expert in participatory methodologies and processes for sustainability, including the design and execution of public participation plans at national, regional and local levels, achieving an effective involvement of diverse actors in the diagnosis and planning (energy, water, forestry, etc.). He has worked in the formation of Public Private Partnerships for Development (APPD), dynamization and constitution of APPD to agree on actions aimed at the fight against poverty in which local communities, large private companies, local authorities, cooperation agencies participate in equality and NGOs.
Javier holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration, a postgraduate and an international master’s degree in Conflict Resolution, and several other trainings, including neurolinguistics programming.
