The purpose of this project is to address the environmental degradation impacting the coral reefs and marine ecosystems of St. Kitts and Nevis (SKN) through an environmental management strategy to reduce the influx of pollutants into marine environments, thus safeguarding biodiversity, improving water quality, and enhancing the resilience of coastal and marine ecosystems.

To achieve this purpose, AAE has been contracted to support The Nature Conservancy (TNC) in implementing the Project Preparation Grant (PPG) and submission of a GEF full-sized Child Project document and CEO Endorsement Package “Building a Blue-Green Economy in St. Kitts and Nevis”.

AAE proposes a participatory and expedient methodology appropriate for child project development that is relevant to St. Kitts and Nevis’ national priorities aligned with the objectives of the Clean and Healthy Oceans Integrated Program (CHO-IP) and its monitoring and evaluation system.

AAE’s approach ensures that the project not only addresses the immediate environmental challenges faced by St. Kitts and Nevis but also builds a durable institutional capacity for ongoing environmental governance while facilitating a smooth transition between design and implementation.
