An evidence gap map will be developed to display the landscape of evidence on the effectiveness of forest conservation interventions. Subsequently, the systematic review will identify areas where evidence of the effectiveness of relevant forest conservation interventions is sufficient for a qualitative or quantitative synthesis, including the factors that moderate effectiveness. The evidence review will include publications from both the peer-reviewed and grey literature.
The overarching questions are:
- What is the evidence base on the effectiveness of selected forest conservation interventions in developing countries?
- To what extent have selected forest conservation interventions been effective at achieving desired outcomes at the individual, household, community, firm and/or landscape levels in developing countries?
- What factors influence the effectiveness of interventions for forest conservation in developing countries?
The assignment aligns with evidence gap maps AAE has previously produced for the GCF's IEU.
Main tasks include:
- Development of Theory of Change, EGM framework and search protocol
- Conduct the data search
- Data extraction and coding
- Development of EGM
- Determine whether a systematic review or a meta analysis can be conducted
- Conduct agreed study
Main outputs include:
- Approach paper
- Data collection report and fully coded file
- Evidence Gap Map
- Systemic review/meta analysis
- Dataset of reviewed studies
