Policies, Laws & Regulations (PLR) Matrix
Analyses of Policies, Laws, and Regulations (PLR) are often part of safeguards-related work. Ideally, the person conducting the analysis is provided with guiding questions to clearly identify the relevant information that needs to be extracted from existing PLRs to answer the question: "To what extent does the existing legal framework support the applicable standards?" Different standards have different requirements; however, they usually address similar topics. The present table provides guiding questions for a range of typical topics. While the list is non-exhaustive and can be further developed, it already serves as a basis for generating PLR analysis matrices.
