AAE was hired to conduct a situation analysis in relation to the transportation and proper storage of coal to the National Fuel, Alcohol and Portland Administration (ANCAP). AAE analyzed the current national situation (technical and legal) and analyzed international best practices to make recommendations appropriate to the client’s needs.

Main tasks

  • Review the legal framework for the import, transportation and use of coal for cement production;
  • Review international experiences and literature related to coal transportation, storage and use at the industrial level;
  • Visit and assess potential storage facilities as well as the transport chain from port to factory.

  • Analysis report of the transport and collection situation of petcoke and coal at an international level and its application in Uruguay;
  • Best practices report;
