The Belize Social Investment Fund (BSIF) provides financial and technical assistance to local government entities and community groups in the country through development cooperation funds earmarked for poverty reduction interventions. BSIF functions as an national implementing agency in Belize for infrastructure and social programs that contribute to the country’s national development in areas of Education, Water & Sanitation, Health, Social Services, Organisational Strengthening, and Economic Infrastructure. Under GCF's Readiness and Preparatory Support Programme BSIF received support to identify gaps in order to meet GCF’ accreditation requirements, as the country’s NDA has identified BSIF as a key agency to assist the country channel climate finance.
AAE will be in charge of identifying the existing gaps from BSIF and design the Strategic Plan to guide its long term mission, vision and work. The team will ensure that the Strategic Plan is inclusive of the long-term goals for the development of Belize, aligned to national priorities and climate adaptive needs.
