Adaptation is closely linked to disaster risk reduction and nature protection and conservation, which are key to sustainable development. Our work on climate change adaptation is interdisciplinary, and we promote adaptation to climate change by providing technical advice and support for the integration of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) into projects, infrastructure and protected area management.
We have supported a range of clients in Adaptation Planning and implementation, we have designed National Adaptation Plans (i.e. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines) and we have assessed over 100 NAPs, and more than 60 adaptation projects. Over the past two years we have designed cost-effective adaptation measures for a range of clients from international NGOs to governments, and we have delivered 10 diverse projects addressing adaptation in several countries, including several SIDS. We involve vulnerable groups, communities and traditional indigenous knowledge in planning activities linked to the ecosystem approach, ensuring an inclusive, gender-based approach. We have also successfully delivered training sessions for over 200 stakeholders and technical staff on NbS and EbA. Our experience in stakeholder engagement allows us to boost the involvement of a variety of actors in adaptation planning and implementation. Our team has reflected these skills in Communication Plans and produced manuals to incorporate EbA approach into the National Protected Areas management plans (e.g. Peru) and for building up gender sensitive NbS projects (e.g. IFAD). We combine sound analytical thinking, technical and practical experience, and strong project management skills to deliver transformational impacts.
